DON'T YOU EVER SKATE?

I came across a book in a library, in which the name of unfortunately escapes me. In short, it was filled with photographs of people from the 50s/60s printed in halftone accompanied by a somewhat comic strip style including speech bubbles and captions. Being so inspired by punk flyers, zines and skateboarding my natural reaction is to reuse parts of original works, changing context and meaning. So naturally, I turned them into a series skate stickers replacing objects with boards and changing speech to something more fitting, I would slap these on lampposts around the local areas (I know of one today that is still there). The picture above is a secondary action of that process, a follow on where the subject has been redrawn and stylized with my own drawings and a limited palette.
