The Printed Canvas Pack explored new manufacturing techniques for Vans Premium, combining material experimentation with classic silhouettes. Building on the success of an earlier heavy enzyme-washed duck canvas collection, the project investigated how printed graphics could be integrated while preserving the worn-in character that had made the original pack so successful.

One of the key challenges was translating the heavily washed aesthetic onto printed canvas. Rather than relying solely on the enzyme wash, which wasn’t compatible with the print process, I worked to recreate the distressed appearance within the artwork itself. This allowed the collection to retain the texture and character of the original concept while introducing an entirely new visual direction.

The collection was released across both the Premium Slip-On LX and Authentic 44, demonstrating how process innovation could evolve into a scalable product story. The pack performed strongly commercially and gained additional recognition when designer Mattias Gollin selected the shoes as the foundation for one of his customisation projects.
