The Slam Jam × Vans Sk8-Hi was created as part of Slam Jam’s ongoing (Un)Corporate Uniform project, exploring ideas of uniform and counterculture through one of Vans’ most iconic silhouettes. Working directly with the Slam Jam team, my role was to translate their concept into footwear, developing the materials, details and technical specifications needed to bring their vision into production.

The design featured an inverted internal and external colour treatment alongside artwork by British artist Fergus “Fergadelic” Purcell. His custom Slam Jam tiger mascot appeared as a heavy-duty print on the outsole, accompanied by subtle disruptive details including an upside-down “A” at the heel.

I extended Fergadelic’s artwork beyond the shoe, designing a silver-card presentation box and custom tiger keyring, creating a complete set of objects around the collaboration.
