The Helena Long Signature Collection was created in collaboration with Vans UK skateboarder Helena Long, developing a collection that reflected both her approach to skateboarding and her creative practice outside of it. The project centred around creating an understated everyday skate shoe while incorporating personal details that celebrated Helena’s identity.

Working closely with Helena, the footwear was designed around her request for an all-black silhouette that could be worn effortlessly every day. Rather than placing graphics prominently across the upper, we incorporated artwork from her band, Upset Stomach, as a hidden detail on the outsole, creating a subtle discovery that connected the product to her wider creative world.

Alongside the footwear, I designed the packaging and adapted Helena’s artwork into a repeat pattern that was applied across the accompanying apparel collection, creating a consistent visual identity throughout the release. The artwork was also featured on Helena’s signature skateboard with Poetic Collective, extending the project beyond the Vans collection itself.
