The Free Skateboard Magazine × Vans collaboration celebrated one of Europe’s most influential independent skate publications through two of the magazine team’s favourite Vans silhouettes: the Skate Sid and Half Cab ’92.

Working closely with the Free team, my role was to translate their deliberately understated visual identity into the footwear. Rather than over-designing the collaboration, we kept the shoes rooted in classic Vans Skateboarding, using Free’s instantly recognisable red dot as the defining graphic detail across the insoles and outsoles.

The result was a simple, authentic two-shoe collection that connected Vans directly with the European skate community and allowed Free’s identity to sit naturally within two classic skate silhouettes.
