Collaboration with END.
Parachute was a collaboration between Vans and END. inspired by the construction and material language of vintage military parachutes. Working closely with the END. team, I led the footwear design, translating their initial concept into a collection that combined utilitarian references with classic Vans silhouettes.
Ripstop fabrics, tonal suede and military-inspired detailing gave the shoes a rugged, technical character while maintaining the simplicity of the original models. For the graphics and packaging, I also reworked an illustration from a vintage Vans box, transforming a skateboarder riding a half-pipe into a figure descending by parachute, a playful connection between the collaboration’s concept and Vans’ archive.
We originally developed the story across three silhouettes the Old Skool 36, Authentic and Slip-On—with the Old Skool 36 ultimately selected for release.
