Cordura × Vans was an internal concept project exploring how performance materials could be introduced into two of Vans’ most iconic silhouettes: the Old Skool and the Half Cab. Starting with an open brief to incorporate Cordura into the range, I developed a concept that reimagined the shoes through a more technical and futuristic lens while retaining their recognisable identity.

The project was inspired by the aesthetics of industrial and laboratory equipment, using translucent foxing, reflective details and speed-lacing systems to create a product that felt engineered rather than traditionally constructed. Every material choice was intended to reinforce the idea of a durable, high-performance product without losing the simplicity of the original silhouettes.

The final concept consisted of two footwear styles, demonstrating how familiar Vans icons could be reinterpreted through modern materials and functional detailing while remaining true to the brand’s DNA.
